Q:I am reading Jonnie Walkers book with great interest. What became of Robbie Dale after Caroline went off the air in 1968? |

A: Robbie Dale went to Ireland where he worked on Radio Sunshine together with Spangles Muldoon. I met them both in Amsterdam. Robbie told me that together with his wife Stella he is living in Gran Canaria and has a holiday resort with apartments which you can visit for a holiday.
Spangles told me he is now starting a new radio station in Ireland. Robbie will start a radio station in the Canary Islands. To know more about them google with their names!
The book of Johnnie Walker is really perfect. I had a nice chat with him!

Q:When I used to listen to Radio Caroline in the 60's they used to play a piece of music, I can't remember if it was on close down or when it was. I think it was called Images. Can anybody tell me if I'm right and anything about the tune. |
Mark Hawkins

A:I think this is "Alan Haven - Image", a great tune, available on the CD box set "the in crowd - the ultimate mod collection". I paid a small fortune for this from Amazon. I understand it was Bob Stewart's theme tune on Radio Caroline North.

Q:I used to listen to Caroline North in the 60s. Can anyone tell me what happened to Jerry Leighton after he left the ship in 1967? I have tried but no success.
Thanks a lot and keep swinging. |

Q:Do you recognise this poster? If so, it's owner - listener Peter Tankard - wants to know if anyone has one to sell him in reasonable condition. Peter, who has had the poster for many years, recently tore it and wants a replacement. Embarrassingly we at Caroline can't help as we don't believe we commissioned it.

Q:The band I was with in 1965 (The Chevrons) managed to get to the final of the National Melody Maker competition (I think we came third). Has anyone out there got any pics or info on that night? I have some pics of our band and I wondered if there were some more |

Q:I have a thing that has bothered me for years - two tracks that got quite a lot of air play in the 1970's. I recently worked out one of them which was "She moved the dishes first" from "Local lads make good" by Supercharge. But the second still lingers somewhere in my back-brain. The trouble is, I can remember so so so little about it. I just remember it had a lot to do with Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham. No honest it did. And a line where the Sheriff went very Mr. Plod with a "Hello, 'ello 'ello, what's all this then?". Anybody got any ideas? |

A:The track about Robin Hood heard on Caroline in the 70s, the one it might be is by Steeleye Span and "Gamble Gold (Robin Hood)". This was played quite a bit in the mid 70s. Hope this is of help.

A:Robin Hood is in fact "Robin Head", by Keith Christmas off the album Brighter Day. I too remember it from Caroline (on 259?) in the 70's. Try Amazon for the CD. Glad Caroline is still with us. Keep on Rocking |

A:Keith Christmas and "Robin Head" from the album Brighter Day, I've played it a few times on my programme. |

Q:I was a 15 year old schoolboy when I took part in Melody Maker's National Beat Contest in 1965. I played drums for The Mystery Men, a young five member band from Kent. To our delight we won the first round which took place at Brighton's Regent Ballroom. The competition was compered by none other than Radio Caroline's Tony Blackburn, who also did a number of interviews to be broadcast from the Mi Amigo.
All these years later I wonder if anybody has a recording of that evening - and maybe even of The Mystery Men. |

Q:I wonder if any one remembers Paul Lavino, think that's his name, was an engineer on Caroline in the 6o's, think he was Polish, lived in London with his Mum who was blind, if anyone knows where he is now, would like to know, we where good friends many years ago. |
